Torquay race report from My Pleasure

May 27th 2011
I found Gordon Compton with a large frown on his face as we loaded another piece of luggage onto My Pleasure. Seas started to build up to a 4 towards Portland. We decided to stop for a 3 course lunch that I had made for the trip. This made Gordon quite chirpy as not only was he being fed, but it meant there was more space on the boat!. Shingles Bank...

I think the chart says that Shingles Bank at low water my reach 60cm above sea level. On Saturday 16th April, this was the picture, at least 7 meters high at low water... I remember when spectating the Cowes Torquay Cowes start we thought it was shallow, we could see sandy water, little did we think that maybe it really was very shallow, according to the chart we should have had many meters of water under our prop...

Here is the link to a 20 second video shot from the peak when we anchored and landed ashore...

Croatia Cruise - 21st to 28th May 2011

Negotiations are taking place with a Croatian Rib dealer/ Rib charter company near the city of Split. They have not only agreed to supply the Ribs but will also organise accommodation throughout our stay and advise on the itinerary.
The provisional itinerary is as follows:
Fly from Gatwick to Split where will will be transferred to our accommodation in the medieval walled city of Trogir. We are hoping for an early flight as this city is well worth visiting.
Collect the Ribs and set off on a shot trip to the island of Brac for an hour or two before setting off for the beautiful Roman town of Korcula
